Hunter Pool Removals is a quote-referral website operated by Mark A Jeanes (ABN 11 229 027 126). This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can access or correct it. It is written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What We Collect
When you submit a quote request, we collect the details you type into the form: your name, suburb, phone number, email address and your description of the job. Providing either a phone number or an email address is enough; you choose what to share.
Like most websites, the site also records limited technical information automatically: pages visited, referring pages, approximate location derived from your connection, and browser type. This is collected through Google Analytics and our hosting provider, Cloudflare, in aggregate form, and it is not used to identify you personally.
Why We Collect It
Your quote-form details are collected for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, where an independent local contractor is confirmed for your area, to refer your enquiry to that contractor so they can contact you, inspect the site and quote the work. We do not use your details for marketing lists, and we do not sell them.
Who Your Details Are Shared With
- The referred contractor. If your enquiry is referred, the independent contractor receives your name, suburb, contact details and job description so they can quote. Their identity and licence details, where licensing applies, are provided to you before you accept a quotation.
- Service providers. The site runs on Cloudflare infrastructure and uses Google Analytics; these providers process data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
- No one else, except where disclosure is required or authorised by law.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to manage your enquiry and any referral that follows, and for reasonable record-keeping after that. You can ask for your enquiry to be deleted at any time (see below).
Access, Correction and Withdrawal
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask us not to refer it, or ask for it to be deleted. Email [email protected] and we will respond to your request. If your enquiry has already been referred to a contractor, we will tell you which contractor holds your details so you can contact them directly as well.
Cookies and Analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how the site is used (pages viewed, how visitors arrive). You can block or clear cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to request a quote.
Complaints
If you believe your privacy has been mishandled, contact us first at [email protected] and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
